Welcome back to Part 2 of our series on commercial door options. In our last post, we discussed four different doors that you might want to consider for your warehouse or facility. In this post, we are going to cover five additional options.
At Authority Dock & Door, our goal is to help you find the right commercial doors for your building. As you will see, there are a lot of choices available to meet your unique needs. Let’s talk about what they are.
PVC Strip Curtains
PVC strip curtains are made of plastic, and they act as a secondary barrier. The curtains can be hung from the top of just about any door frame for an extra, added layer of protection for the products that are stored in the room.
PVC strip curtains offer many benefits, including helping to save money on energy costs, improving workplace safety, and improving your workers’ efficiency and productivity.
Commercial Fire-Rated Doors
If a fire were to happen at your facility, you could suffer a great loss. Installing commercial fire-rated doors can help to prevent losses of life and property. They work by either shutting manually or automatically when the fire alarm goes off. The doors are protected from the fire for 20-90 minutes.
Every year, fire departments respond to more than 1,200 fires at warehouse properties, according to the National Fire Protection Association. Commercial fire-rated doors can give you peace of mind in the event of a fire at your facility.
Swinging Traffic Doors
Anything you can do to improve efficiency at your facility is a good thing. If you currently have regular doors within your facility in high-traffic areas, you may want to consider switching to swinging traffic doors instead.
Swinging traffic doors are frequently seen in restaurants and retail stores, but they work well in warehouse environments too. They are made from durable materials that can handle forklifts, pallet jacks, and other types of force used to open them.
Coiling Counter Shutters
Coiling counter shutters can offer additional security to your facility if you need to close down counter space or customer service space off to the general public. They easily roll up and down for quick access or closure.
Coiling counter shutters come in a variety of styles, and they can be sized to meet your unique needs. You can choose from ventilated or unventilated slats and are completely customizable.
Security Gates/Grilles/Shutters
There are many businesses that can benefit from security gates, grilles, and/or shutters. They offer more security in areas that need to be closed off to the public yet provide visibility.
Depending on which you choose, security gates, grilles, and shutters easily roll up or fold sideways when a store, concession stand, parking area, or a part of your facility is closed. They can also be a visually pleasing addition to any area of your facility that is not accessible at times.
